Our Teachers

Our Principal - Lucia Crown

About Our Principal — Lucia Crown

Lucia Crown’s lifelong dedication to dance began at the age of three when she commenced training at a local dance school. From an early age, she demonstrated exceptional commitment, competing in numerous festivals and successfully reaching the national finals on multiple occasions, as well as achieving ISTD examinations in Ballet, Tap and Modern dance.

Her passion for dance extended beyond performance; by the age of thirteen, Lucia began teaching younger students, nurturing their skills and love for dance. She formalised her expertise by completing her teaching qualifications at eighteen, laying a strong foundation for a career in dance education.

While pursuing a law degree at the University of Surrey, Lucia’s creative talents flourished when she choreographed the university’s production of The Wedding Singer. This experience was transformative, leading her to realise that her true vocation lay in the world of dance and choreography.

Upon completing her degree, Lucia devoted herself fully to her dance career, expanding her knowledge and experience by training extensively and teaching at multiple respected schools. Her vision and dedication culminated in the establishment of Crown Academy in 2021, where she now leads with a commitment to excellence and a passion for cultivating confident, technically proficient, and expressive dancers.

Under Lucia’s leadership, the academy strives to provide high-quality training and a supportive environment, inspiring students to reach their full potential and develop a lifelong appreciation for the art of dance.

Throughout her career, she travelled across the country competing at the highest levels, earning numerous titles and accolades for her outstanding talent and showmanship.

For many years, Miss Nikki owned and operated her own successful dance school, nurturing countless young dancers and instilling in them a lifelong love of movement. She eventually decided to step away from running her school to focus on her family. She passed on her legacy of dance, discipline, and creativity to her daughter, Lucia, and is now back where it all began.

Miss Shanice

Dance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember — I started dancing at just two years old, and it quickly became my lifelong passion. Teaching dance allows me to share that same love and joy with my students, helping them grow in confidence, creativity, and technique. There’s nothing more rewarding than inspiring the next generation of dancers and watching them flourish both in and out of the studio.
Outside of teaching, I’m a proud mum to my beautiful little girl, Lilah. I cherish spending time with my family and friends, and one of my greatest joys is watching Lilah perform on stage, seeing her develop her own love for dance.
